Of Stars & Thread is a vintage decor shop based in Portland, Oregon, curating magical objects for people who love whimsygoth, fairycore, celestial, and witchy home aesthetics.
Our shop is built around the idea that the objects in our homes should feel like they bring magic and joy to our life and our clothes should make us feel confident, beautiful, and like the magical beings we are.
We search for 90s vintage pieces, whimsigoth, fairycore, and festival clothes, as well as glass, curiosities, textiles, and handmade creations that bring a sense of wonder into everyday spaces.
You’ll find us inside The Memory Den in Portland, as well as hosting live vintage sales on Whatnot, where we share our latest magical finds.
Of Stars & Thread is run by Esther and Alex, best friends and soul sisters.
Together we blend storytelling, design, and vintage discovery to create a shop that feels a little bit like stepping into a fairytale.

Alex
Co-Founder | Seamstress | Textile Designer
Alex is the “Thread” in Of Stars & Thread.
She is a talented seamstress and designer who creates under her own brand, Of One Thread.
Alex has a deep love for textiles, craftsmanship, and handmade design. Her work focuses on thoughtful construction, beautiful fabrics, and timeless pieces that feel both personal and artistic.
Within Of Stars & Thread, Alex brings a maker’s eye to the shop — helping curate vintage textiles, handmade goods, and pieces that celebrate the artistry of sewing and design.

The name Esther comes from the Persian word for star, which inspired the “Stars” in Of Stars & Thread.
Esther is a writer, entrepreneur, and creative director who loves exploring the intersection of storytelling, business, and beautiful objects.
She has spent years building online brands and creative projects, and brings that same passion for storytelling into the shop.
Her love of celestial symbolism, vintage curiosities, and poetic aesthetics shapes much of the shop’s whimsical and slightly gothic atmosphere.
